Freedom Academy I, Inc (FA) is a community based organization with a global vision.   We seek to revitalize and empower the community through education, children's activities, life readiness training, and mental health counseling.

Freedom Academy has a 10-year plan.

In the first 5 years, FA will provide weekly child care, after school programming, a computer lab, sports fields, life skills classes, and mental health counseling. Our mission is to serve 125 children.  Through affordable high quality service, the childcare will help families eliminate one major concern.  Literacy unlocks unlimited potential for a child.  It builds their confidence, exposes them to a broader worldview, and helps to guide their adulthood journey. Children also need help with homework and a safe place to stay after school until their parent returns home from work.  To better assist the families that we serve, after school programming will be provided to eliminate this issue.  With 9 apartment complexes within a 1/2 mile of FA, getting children to the childcare and after school programs will not be an issue.  In order to minimize the digital divide, FA will add a computer lab.  Computers will be used daily by children after school and can be utilized by adults at other times to learn or upgrade their computer literacy skills, search and apply for employment, and do research.  On the 6.5 acres of land the building sits on, a soccer field and baseball field will be built so the children can participate in recreational leagues and impromptu games.  During the week, life skills classes will be offered, community services such as a food pantry will be open to the public, access to grocery  shopping, a cooking class, financial education, and parenting training are also among the services FA will provide.   In addition to childcare and recreation programs,  a full-time counselor will be on staff to assist families with mental and emotional issues.

In year 6, FA plans to construct a free-standing building which will double the capacity of the child care from 125 to 250.   There will also be a gym where basketball games and exercise classes will be held.

In year 10, FA plans to open a charter school for grades K-5.   There will be 2 classes for each grade with 20 children per class.

Through education, training, and development, Freedom Academy plans to change the lives of the youth and families living within the surrounding community.
