Zari's Soldier Savior's partner says:

I would like to introduce you to Zari.
This sweet girl is in Kabul, Afghanistan.
She was born near there and it’s not an ideal place for her to live.
They were so small and very malnourished.
Her and her brother were taken in by some U.S. soldiers stationed at a small base there.
She was terrified and would run off and hide any chance she got. She would crawl into small spaces to feel safe and they would have to dig her out.
They began wrapping her in blankets to make her feel more secure and safe. They built her a box and put some blankets in there for her to sleep. This helped and she stopped running away.
Once Zari started to feel more comfortable and safe in her new surroundings her personality and attitude began to appear.
She was feisty and became the diva of the camp. She loved to play with the big dogs and would antagonize them any chance she got. She loved to play, explore and loved new people. She was very energetic and the little star of the camp.
They cared for her as best they could but knew it wouldn’t be her forever home.
They reached out to other soldiers in surrounding bases searching for someone whom might be able to help.
After the picture circulated through the area from person to person, I myself received a picture all the way here in Sackets Harbor, New York.
My significant other is currently deployed there. Due to the covid pandemic his deployment has been a bit longer than it was supposed to be.
However this added time to his deployment caused him to be there as Zari’s picture was being sent around.
He in turn sent it to me saying she needed a forever home. I immediately responded with  “okay, how and when can we get her?” I had no hesitation saying “yes” to welcoming this little girl into our family and being able to provide the love and care she needs.
If I can make one good thing happen out of living through a very long, rough deployment and a pandemic at the same time then this would be it. We need help getting Zari from Afghanistan to the States.
We are fully committed to giving her the best life by joining our family.
She has made the scary journey from the base she was at to the Nowzad rescue clinic.

With Nowzad’s help, our determination and a little outside help.... let’s bring Zari home!

The total required for a companion animal to travel to North America is usually a minimum of $5000 for a dog and at least $3000 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
