My name is Henry Pleas; I am a classically trained singer. Several years ago, I had an idea for an organization that would encourage and present the works of marginalized composers on the classical music stage. This concept has developed into the Unveiled Voices Project (UVP) and we need your help.

As one of it's projects for the 2017-18 performance season UVP is seeking to re-expose audiences to the work of a great British composer, largely forgotten today. Her name was Liza (pronounced “Leeza”) Lehmann. At age 34, Lehmann was able to secure publishing for her song cycle score, In a Persian Garden. Within a few years, the work gained world-wide recognition and popularity. From it's first publishing in 1896 and through the 1930's the work was performed by both professionals and avocational singers internationally at highly regarded venues such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Britain's Proms concerts. History of "In a Persian Garden"

In a Persian Garden, has been lost from the repertoire of pianists and singers and from the ears of audiences . . . it saddens me.  The work speaks so loudly to some of the chaos that exists in our very own time.

I sent my Soul through the Invisible,
Some letter of that After-life to spell,
And by and by my Soul return'd to me
And answer'd: I myself am Heav'n and Hell.

As we know, most things are destined to fall out of memory.  But at the same time we have to wonder why we let the beautiful things and achievements that were long struggled for be forgotten and abandoned.  We think it is worthwhile to reaffirm Liza Lehmann's contribution to the western classical music tradition and share the beauty of her compositions.

Please join our team by supporting our efforts to share her story to wider audience.

We are  very excited about our upcoming production of In a Persian Garden.  Please join us for wonderfully entertaining evening hearing the life story of a powerful, creative, ahead of her time force and the beautiful music she wrote. Six incredibly talented performers expose her life and work.

The cost to hire performers to practice and perform, make recordings so the work can be shared, secure space for performances, market so people hear about our productions is all expensive. We are seeking angels who understand the expense AND importance of exposing Ms. Lehmann's work and those of other Unveiled Voices.

Please help us share so that ALL are heard.....
