DRSF got an urgent call from our Friends at Miami Dade Animal Services to ask our help for a little girl who had been brought to the shelter as a stray and who had known nothing but hardship and neglect for a very long time.

When Pam got to MDAS they had sweet little Lois' abdomen all wrapped up but let Pam know that she had a mammary tumor that needed immediate care. Pam brought her back north to Everglades Animal Hospital to see Dr. Weman and was not at all prepared as to what they saw when they removed her bandages....

She is such a delicate little girl, only 7 lbs, and from her appearance, she has been out on the street for some time, but not long enough that the tumor, that weighs about as half as much as she does, would have needed to grow. Someone, somewhere, watched this tumor grown on her and did nothing.

Lois had a thorough checkup this afternoon with Dr. Weman and we have no way of knowing if the tumor is cancerous and/or if it has spread to her system. What we do know, is that she deserves way better than her life has brought her and we are going to do everything in our power to show her how wonderful life can be.

We are humbled to have received an amazing donation from a long time DRSF supporter for Lois' care, so at this time, we only need to raise a portion of her care, which we estimate to be approximately $500.

Would you consider a donation of any size to free a little girl of a tumor that has brought her much pain and suffering?  Even if you can't donate, we invite you to leave a message of love and support for Lois to let her know that her luck is turning and she will now only know love for all of her days <3
