History
The Flightline Services Detachment has deep roots in CAF history, established during the CAF’s time in Harlingen, Texas. With a longstanding commitment to supporting aviation events, the detachment’s work dates back to AIRSHO 1978, where it officially began managing aircraft oil operations. Over the years, they broadened their skills to support aircraft in countless ways, and today, they’re proud to serve at over a dozen airshows annually.
Flightline Services - Oil Crew Trailer
The Flightline Services Detachment is committed to ensuring that every airshow runs smoothly. This dedicated team plays a crucial role in making these events possible, providing essential services like fuel, oil, and on-the-ground support for the aircraft. Their responsibilities extend well beyond basic fueling; at many airshows, Flightline Services members help prepare aircraft for their scheduled performances and are on standby to address any issues that may arise.
Additionally, the Flightline Services team proudly represents the CAF at each show. Their branded trailer and uniforms showcase the CAF’s dedication and professionalism, strengthening public awareness of its mission to honor aviation history.
These dedicated volunteers are an invaluable part of the CAF’s event operations.
This year, they are working to raise funds for updated equipment and a new 20-foot bumper trailer to enhance their capabilities at airshows. With the support of this campaign, the Flightline Services Detachment aims to continue its vital work with improved equipment, ensuring that each airshow is as impactful and seamless as possible.
ABOUT 12 PLANES OF CHRISTMAS
Each year the CAF holds an annual fundraiser to help support and highlight aircraft projects for planes in need of restoration, maintenance or repairs. Donors may contribute to a specific aircraft project or to the CAF’s Restoration Grant Fund.

projects with the most need get back into the air faster.
