“Can I Go Home Now?”
What parent hasn’t heard that at least once from their child? Even if this was said by a child not your own, it would be heartbreaking to have to tell them ‘no.’ The tragedy of that question is that we do not have an answer for the Ukrainian Children... yet.
One year later - March 2023 - Ukraine continues to be an active war zone. And their children, unfortunately, cannot go home.
And those who are still in Ukraine, having run away from their homes in cities/villages, are no longer safe. Their old homes are completely charred as some cities have been 90% destroyed.
The Children in Ukraine living in an active war zone where Russian missiles and rockets fly overhead every day are currently highly vulnerable. Many are without homes, living as refugees inside Ukraine and outside Ukraine. Lack of funds for food, rent and daily expenses. Many children are without parents and/or families. Lack of therapy. Lack of schooling. Lack of funds to escape Ukraine. And the list goes on.
7.8 million children have been impacted by this war. 7.8 MILLION.

As they simply put it, " It is utterly heartbreaking to see first-hand these innocent lives caught in the crossfire of a war, not of their making. This world simply cannot bear another innocent child’s death, hunger and/or despair. And we have promised all these Children, simply, “We will not let the world forget about you. You are not alone. We are family, the humans our world, we will make sure that the answer is YES to your question CAN I GO HOME NOW?”
And that is where this campaign comes in. “CAN I GO HOME NOW? - We are Family' is a call to action, a powerful rallying cry, as tragedy unfolds and wreaks havoc due to this ongoing catastrophe in Ukraine.
Our goal is to fund the following areas and provide constant everyday support for the next 2 years for at least 700 Children:
- Rent and Expenses for 2 years, sent monthly
- Living costs, schools for 2 years, sent monthly
- Emergency rescue
- Escape transportation to neighbouring countries
- Accommodation in neighbouring countries until their refugee status is approved, schools for 2 years, sent monthly
- Further education
- Medication, healthcare, mental health therapy, physical therapy, for 2 years, sent monthly
- Search for 14,000 missing Children still unaccounted for (many taken to Russia - others unkown).

This addition to our campaign title is to show the Children to know that they are not alone. We want the children to know that around the world, many humans have become their family. And that we will be checking up on them, we will be waiting for them, we will be making sure that they are cared for.
