BRING LIGHT TO THOSE WHO NEED IT THE MOST!
In Arizona, there are close to 18,000 youth living in the foster care system. While in care, support can be difficult to come by, but once they "age out" at 18, the stress and anxiety from life's unforeseen challenges can be overwhelming.
REAL WORLD JOB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
In 2006, Jewish Family & Children’s Service, a non-profit 501C3, began the Real World Job Development Program designed to provide extensive support to some of the most vulnerable in our community-foster teens that are aging out of the foster care system and teens with behavioral health challenges.
Program staff are committed to building work readiness and academic skills while providing a safe, secure and caring environment. Over the last 13 years we have helped countless teens between the ages of 16 and 24 learn how to apply their knowledge and skills to find gainful employment. Participants in this program have gone on to find work in schools, hospitals, veterinary clinics, small businesses, and more. Many foster care youth enrolled in this program manage to achieve their educational and/or employment goals.
WHAT YOUR INVESTMENT COVERS
In just ONE DAY, Keller Williams Biltmore Partners-along with their families, friends and supporters, will work to completely transform the 7,000 sq ft of space that serves as many as 200 or more foster young adults per year!
We Plan To:
- Paint the entire facility!
- Update 30 chairs within the center to new and to match vs broken and worn out!
- Provide a new storage area with "sorting pod" for all of the various donations that come in, big and small, appliances, housewares, etc. Close to 2k sq feet of storage!
- Completely revamp the "thrift store" with all new clothing racks, displays, and all new clothing items that the youth can not only "manage" to gain retail experience, but also "shop" to wear on interviews!
- Update the lounge area with more comfortable seating, clean shelving, space to relax, study and watch movies or videos!
- Update the child care center that is used during supervised visits!
- Add in more private study spaces for extra computer labs!
- Add in a Wall of Pride to display all of the diplomas from lifeskill training and their high school studies or achievements!
- Re-design the current youth shower bathroom for those that need facilities to clean up!
- Completely stock the food pantry with healthy, on the go items that the youth can take with them!
- Provide transportation and/ or grocery gift cards!
- And many smaller repairs in the staff offices as we can complete!
- TOTAL COST: $10,500. 100% OF ALL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL GO TO THE CENTER!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
No amount of support is too little! With just a $3.33 a day commitment for 30 days, you will provide the funding that makes this transformation possible. 100% of all contributions collected will go direct to the center for RED DAY. Will you join is and Give Where You Live?
