New York Urban League Young Professionals hasn't added a story.
The New York Urban League Young Professionals (NYULYP) founded on April 1, 2003, is the award-winning and nationally recognized volunteer auxiliary of the New York Urban League (NYUL). We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to enable African Americans and other underserved ethnic communities to secure a first-class education, economic self-reliance, and equal respect of their civil rights through programs, services, and advocacy.
Since our founding, New York City’s young professional leaders have answered the call and joined our cause in supporting NYUL and its work to help New Yorkers live the lives they deserve to lead. This April, as NYULYP celebrates 18 years of service to our community and affiliate, we invite you -- our friends and partners -- to invest in our mission and to help us continue the great work that we are doing throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City.
Will you donate $18 in celebration of 18 years of service today?
Your donation will support The Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship Program of the New York Urban League. Scholarships are awarded to exceptional NYC high school seniors who demonstrate strong potential for academic achievement, are of excellent character, have proven leadership capabilities and demonstrated commitment to community service and extra-curricular activities. NYULYP donates yearly to the scholarship fund has disbursed more than $15,000 to scholars in the past two years. This year, our goal is to provide seven Young Professional Incentive Awards ($1,500) to deserving scholars. Every donation will assist young New Yorkers from underserved communities to follow their educational dreams.
Will you donate today?
This anniversary month, we invite you to continue this scholarship tradition by creating pathways to college for these deserving high school graduates and investing in the next generation of African American leaders. Let us continue to memorialize Whitney M. Young’s commitment to educational equity for young people and help us close the achievement gap in underserved communities, starting now.

More about NYULYP
NYULYP is a diverse group of 21–40-year-old working professionals that are committed to providing a unique networking opportunity for individuals to associate with like-minded individuals interested in community service, personal and professional development, civic engagement and civil rights, and access to employment opportunities. In the last 5 years alone, we have mobilized our young professional network to give over 85,000 hours of service to our community, petition our local lawmakers on issues like “raise the age” and “stop & frisk”, supported local Black & minority business owners though our marketplace opportunities, co-host the Annual NYUL HBCU Fair for 2500+ high school students and their parents, and give voice to our young professional community through the State of Young Black New York Conference. And that’s just a part of what we do! We are proud of the critical work we do in the name of compassion, service, justice, and advocacy. To learn more about the NYUL Whitney M.
