I am the Student Success Coach at Greenway Elementary and I have the honor of working with some amazing students and staff!  The main aspect of my job is supporting both students and staff in social emotional learning in all areas of the school day and beyond.

Our school is lucky to have a phenomenal P.E. teacher who puts intentional thought into her lessons and how that can apply to the playground and beyond. Next year we plan to incorporate some activities at recess that include social emotional learning topics (like including others, how to lose appropriately, how to handle conflict, etc.) with different games and play activities that they can then do independently. We know that it will only take a small amount of guidance and support for our students to flourish.

As a Title I school our funds are already limited and to do this effectively we need equipment.

Your donations will fund a variety of playground/sports balls and equipment , developmentally appropriate creative play equipment that foster cooperative play and teamwork, permanent signage to help communicate expectations, and sustainable and exciting recess options.

Recess is a critical time to impact students physical, cognitive, and academic growth.  Our goal is to use these items strategically to support students during recess and purposefully impact their social emotional growth in general.
