ArcTangent Dance is an emerging professional contemporary dance company based in San Jose, CA.
Under the artistic direction of Arielle Cole, our dance company brings together talented dancers who live and work in San José and those from across the South and East Bay regions. We intentionally elevate the brilliance and creativity of those who identify as queer, BIPOC, AAPI, and individuals of all body types. By cultivating an environment that values and uplifts diverse voices, and an interest in the intersection of technology and social issues, we create powerful dance experiences that resonate with all.

Your support directly enriches the Bay Area by supporting talented dancers and our collaborators of composers, filmmakers, photographers, and costume designers.
With your help, we can...
- Pay our artists and collaborators a living wage.
- Cover overhead costs such as studio and theater rentals for rehearsals and performances.
- Pay for proper music licensing to make sure all artists involved get their fair share.
- Develop exciting new repertory and community events.
- Elevate San José as a thriving hub for dance expression.
Some of our upcoming projects...
- Symphony Chromatica - A work-in-progress, multidisciplinary dance piece about the science and history of colors. This will be presented both live on stage, as well as in a virtual reality experience enjoyed at home.
- spARC Dance Festival - To take place in September 2024. This festival will showcase emerging and mid-career choreographers local to San Jose and surrounding communities.
- CoTangent Dance - A preprofessional dance company geared toward teens who aspire to make dance their career.
