It has been such a crazy week around here, we have been remiss on introducing you to another little girl DRSF welcomed this week who needs your prayers every bit as much, and maybe even more than Pooh....To our DRSF family, please meet Sangria

This beautiful little girl is not even 3 years old and is fighting for her life this evening at Animal Medical Center at Cooper City suffering from Addison's Disease, pancreatitis, and diabetes exascerbated from being given the wrong type of insulin. She has spent the last few days with Dr. Weman at Everglades Animal Hospital and was too fragile to leave unsupervised over the weekend, so Dr. Weman personally brought her to Cooper City to Dr. Horagan to watch for the weekend and met Pam there with Pooh as well. We could not have made up the story of how she came to us so here goes...

A man walked into a bar in Naples and handed her to the bartender saying that he could no longer keep her. The bartender gives her to her daughter who somehow knew of us so contacted us for help. We agreed to take her in and our wonderful Board Member and Transportation Coordinator Joanna owns a business that does work on the West Cost and has a number of guys who work for them in their trash chute business who go back and forth, so these amazing guys agreed to bring Sangria back with them earlier this week.

She was so sick, she cried the whole way across Alligator Alley and to make her feel better, she was serenaded by three grown construction guys who held her and did everything they could to make her feel better until they could get her to the vet sending us photos the whole way

She is very, very sick, and we are doing everything we can to give her the chance she needs as her entire condition could have been avoided had she received the right kind and dose of insulin. Would you consider a donation toward the cost of her care?  We welcome donations of any size and even if you are not able to donate, we invite you to share her story and/or leave her a get well message!
