Dachshund Rescue South Florida hasn't added a story.
Imagine being alone, blind, and afraid in a place with new sounds and smells that you can't even see. You are in a back corner, away from anyone who might see you and be able to help, but with so many young dogs in the shelter, you are afriad they will pass you over, and you can't even see to try and get their attention.
An Angel in Orlando shared the following with us:
Orlando, FL - Orange County Animal Services; 2769 Conroy Rd.
Possibly blind (waiting for updated evaluation) -- stuck in
isolation (away from adopter foot traffic) and a senior. What else
could be stacked against this poor baby? We only have until this
upcoming Thursday to figure something out to help him! Bless his
heart, he doesn't even have a name! Seems to have something going on
with his skin too. And has yet to be tested for heartworms.
Animal ID: A286839 Room No.: WD...I26
Hi, I am an approximately 10 year old tricolor male.
I
am fearful and I have not been tested for heartworms.
I weigh
approximately 16 pounds.
I have been at Orange County Animal
Services since Thursday, March 13, 2014.
My due out date is
Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Chances for little old men like this one are not good, but thanks to some amazing people, on Thursday, A286839 will be sprung from the Orlando County Shelter and start his new life named Harold.
It takes a village to rescue a doxie, and It is thanks to an amazing team of transporters lead by Mina, and her network of crossposters and transporters who specialize in securing rescue for old, medically needy, and temperment challenged dogs in Orlando, there is a 4 leg relay already in place to bring this little man directly to our friends at Everglades Animal Hospital in Davie where he will be welcomed with love and care and get the care that he needs.
He is facing a list of medical issues that we will need your help with...from the photo alone, there are a couple symptoms that appear in tandem which could be concerning; blindness and skin issues. Eyes and skin can be secondary symptoms to endocrine issues (cusinging, diabetes, etc), and we are unsure of his heartwork status, heart condition, etc.
Would you consider a donation to help us be able to provide all the care that Harold needs to enjoy his last years in comfort and love? We can't do it without you, and we hope you think he is as sweet looking as we do!
