Doxie Rescue of Bucks County & NJ hasn't added a story.
The six little face that greeted us broke our
hearts. No veterinary care and as our exams proceeded we found
fleas, anemia and teeth that fell out in our hands. They are still
recovering. Please lend them a hand if you can.
The Story
You all know the story...it's Giving
Tuesday!! This has been one incredible year here at the rescue.
It has been the year of hoarding situations. It began in
Pittsburgh with the over 20 doxies pulled to safety from a woman
that never showed them proper care and will end with the puppies
from the South. And yes, there were others in between. All need
medical help. All need spays, neuters and more and so we are
dedicating our Giving Tuesday effort to our hoarding doxies. This
year, DRBC has spent over $300,000 on these amazing little ones
and now we ask your support to help offset the costs.
The Mission
It is a
straightforward one and it isn't just limited to today...this
fundraiser will stay up till the end of the year! Let's get these
puppers spayed, neutered and ready for their new homes. Did you
know that even though we contain costs with the DRBC Clinic, ever
dog that leaves DRBC to go to a new home costs the rescue ~$875 to
get ready? It's true.
We thought we
would have some fun and invite you to be part of this heroic
effort by supporting a special group. We have divided the
dogs into 4 fun groups:
Thank you so
much for your support.
|
Your Role
OK, the steps are not only fun, they are pretty simple too.
Step 1: Check out the groups and the pups in them.
Step 2. Pick a group to sponsor.
Step 3: Donate towards their care.
Step 4: Decide if you want to give a Wish to your sponsored pupper for being such a trooper.
Step 5: Check out and smile. You just helped to save a life!
Easy and fun! Best of all the dogs are the
big winners thanks to your generosity and support. We say it all
the time, but we mean it from our hearts...no one does it like the
DRBC Gang! Now let's make today a special one!!

Founded in 1984 by Bucks County, PA, and New Jersey dachshund lovers, DRBC is a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization supported completely by donations. Our all-volunteer organization, which has been in existence for over 36 years, works tirelessly for the benefit of dachshunds, dachshund mixes, and the animal owning public. DRBC serves the needs of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Delaware.
DRBC’s mission is five-fold:
- Rescue abandoned, owner relinquished neglected, or stray dachshunds or dachshund mixes.
- Rehabilitate through excellent medical and behavioral support those in our care.
- Re-home those in our charge with an emphasis on their personality and not a quick fix based on needed space.
- Provide life-long sanctuary to those with long-term medical/behavioral issues. Additionally, DRBC supports the long-term sanctuary of senior dachshunds.
- Finally, we seek to provide community education to enhance the life and well-being of all pets through the DRBC community education program.
DRBC prides itself as an organization on the level of medical care provided and in its role as a medical resource for the dachshund breed. Community education is at the forefront of the DRBC mission.
We endeavor to obtain all dachshunds in animal shelters thus avoiding euthanasia. We also aid owners in recovering lost or stolen pets.
