Hi everyone!
Just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have already supported me in this challenge through donation, generosity and prayers. Just yesterday, I went on a training hike to get a better idea of what three peaks would feel like (I don't think I had done more than 1000 m of elevation prior to this haha). Dawson and I, with another friend (Andrew Wong!) climbed 2153 m of elevation, double my personal best! Needless to say, I am tired. I am learning that this will not be an easy challenge. That's a good thing though.
As I learn more about sex trafficking, I would be upset if I were not pushing myself this August. I know that there are many around the world, and even in this country, who have little or no choice out of the sex industry. This challenge is a chance to show that those who are trapped in this industry are valuable because they are made in God's image. I am thankful for the work that Brave and IJM do in this.
Another not super exciting reminder -- this world is filled with injustice. Being brutally honest, even with the justice that can be provided for these victims through the partner organizations is imperfect. That's why I'm very grateful that one of the partner organizations is Next Step Ministries. They seek to give women the opportunity of introducing Jesus into their recovery journey. I believe that God alone can provide that perfect justice.
To close, here's a photo from yesterday! I'll try keeping you all
updated as the event draws closer and closer! Thanks once again for
all your support! I am looking forward to training more for this
event.

After 6 men sat together in the Bow River basin and discussed the GIANT of
an issue of SEX TRAFFICKING, it was easy to use Mt. EVEREST as a metaphor.

Why 8848? Because, Mt. Everest is 8848m tall. The idea was born to summit Everest not overseas but, here in the Alberta Rocky Mountains. These men were inspired to create The Freedom 8848 Team Everest Challenge as a justice initiative of 4th Musketeer Canada following a 72 hour wilderness journey called Extreme Character Challenge -XCC.
-
The Freedom 8848 Team Everest Challenge was created to raise funds, awareness and most of all empathy for those who have quieted voices. To support and find ways to protect those who are enslaved, on a recovery journey, the frontline organizations, our children, and anyone else who is directly or indirectly involved.

"This mission needs your help!"

As one of the Freedom8848 supporters put it:
-
" I hope... that they don’t only climb the equivalent of Everest:
they move the equivalent of Everest."
-
The funds raised are donated to carefully selected organizations.

Freedom 8848, their partners, and all it's participants sincerely ask for your support as we enter the third of many annual events this August 18-21, 2022.
We believe with your help we can become the
"...GROUNDSWELL of people standing together moving mountains for justice."

Can you IMAGINE?? We can!!
