Her rescue blast went out from the shelter with a rope around her neck in the holding cage she was in - a volunteer holding her head up to try and get a shot of her face.

She was "found" in the streets, all of 6 years old, unable to walk, but her medical records told a story of neglect before her injury - dirty ears with debris found inside of them, cloudy eyes, dense calculus and gingival swelling.  

She was a doxie and needed help.  We placed our hold and her freedom ride was on the way to get her.

Josee's injury presented as IVDD and so she first went to SEVN where an MRI revealed that it wasn't a slipped disk that was causing her inability to walk, but our biggest foe - a broken pelvis.... 

Josee then was transferred to LeadER, where she will be seen by the surgeons there to determine her treatment plan and look closer at her injuries to determine if they are surgical or not.

As our dogs start to enjoy their holidays with gifts, a treat or two and with a family who loves them, Josee will spend Christmas Eve at LeadER Emergency Hospital hoping to feel better and maybe find a family of her very own.
