As much as DRSF would love to, we are not able to directly rescue every doxie that comes through one of our partner shelters as some dogs are adopted directly.

A few short months ago, we saw a little red girl come through intake that we would have loved to welcome to DRSF, but she was adopted directly and we held our breath and hoped it was a good home.

It was very bittersweet when we saw her come back to the shelter yesterday, and it was even more so when we learned that she was suffering from a luxating patella (or floating knee cap) and her family either didn't want to, or wasn't able to provide her the care she needed and brought he back to the shelter, so soon again after leaving.

When the shelter called us to ask if we could help her, we didn't hesitate a minute, and thus AA1616727 became Joy, member of the Class of 2014.  We now, once again, turn to the DRSF community to raise the funds to cover the surgery she needs to fix her knee and allow her to walk without pain.

As always, we welcome donations of every size as they all are made with love and each one gets us closer to our goal.  All donations are tax deductible and bo 100% to making doxie dreams of forever families come true!
