It is never good when we get an email and phone call at the same time from, MDAS, but we know that they will only call when it is extremely urgent, and little Renny was in extreme pain and in urgent need of specialized care that the shelter did not have the resources to provide.

Renny is all of two months old, and 3 lbs and was surrendered today to the shelter by his owners with a severe trauma/wound to his front paw that his medical notes indicated that he was "injured by kids; has extensive injuries to FL paw with possible fractures. Will need radiographs of leg and surgery to further debride paw. Paw may require amputation .  He is a doxie mix, but when we saw the picture, we couldn't say no, and Pam leaped into the Truck and headed to Miami.

The amazing team at MDAS did what they could for his paw, which is nearly destroyed, wrapped him up, gave him some pain meds until Pam got there, and he was scooped up and they were back in the car headed north again to Dr. Moore at Broward Veterinary Specialists.

As luck would have it, we had just received a care package of fuzzy blankets from Florrie in VT, so little Renny (which means "small but strong" in Irish" had his first taste of the comfort he so deserves and he burrowed his little head in the blanket with his paw, that is larger than he is, stuck out the whole ride north.

Renny is being checked out by Dr. Moore and we will know more about his condition this evening, but either way, he has along road ahead of him and we are hopeful that his paw can be saved.

Will you help us cover his care and help him to have the life that he deserves?  No donation is too small and all are given with love (and are tax deductible!) <3  Thank you in advance for your support for a little guy who has only known pain and confusion thus far in his short life, but he will soon know the love and support of the DRSF community!
