Hi Everyone!  For those of you who don't know me, my name is Allison Edwards, I am the Founder of Jinja Connection, an organization that supports and resettles children living on the street in Uganda. While I stepped down last year from my position as Director when I moved back Canada, I am still very much involved and care about Jinja Connection and it's success as much as I always have!

Many of you are aware that every year we have a "Tea & Auction" fundraiser in support of Jinja Connection. Due to the current global pandemic we are unable to have a fundraiser to raise the much needed funds to operate Jinja Connection. Without the funds normally raised from that event, Jinja Connection will not be able to function as usual. We have always prided ourselves in the fact that everything we do is needed, every program, every staff member, every child we support.  So even the smallest cut back could greatly impact the success of Jinja Connection.

Uganda is currently under Country wide lock down which has left many children living on the streets without a place to go for refuge, medical care, a hot meal, a place to shower and a place to learn.  Our Director of Jinja Connection has been working tirelessly with the local Government, Authorities and Partner organizations to find a temporary solution for those children stuck on the street with no support.  They have secured a location where the children will be able to stay and receive the support and care they need and deserve until the Country wide lock down has been lifted and Jinja Connection can continue to operate as usual.

I am reaching out to you, to ask you to help me raise the funds that would have been raised at the Event.  Something as simple as donating the $25 that you would have spent on your ticket will go a long way. If you are in a position to give we would be so grateful!
