Momma Dog's Soldier Savior says:

I am a United States Marine serving in Afghanistan.

We have an amazing dog on our base we call Momma Dog, she's been with us since we got here several months ago.
We used to see her everyday when our convoy would go out to conduct vehicle searches.
We would feed her and give her lots of attention everyday.
One day she followed our trucks right back on base and we accommodated her right outside my tent.
I set up a dog bed with blankets and a water dish and since then she's been living the life.
Everyday she jogs along side our convoy when we roll out for a mission and follows us right back, then spends the rest of the day basking in the motorpool or getting lots of love by everyone in the platoon. Recently, however the base issued a warning that they are preparing to catch all animals on base and euthanize them.
They said they're going to start setting up traps within a couple days and have already issued euthanization kits.
First we tried to set something up for her to stay off base out of reach of anyone trying to harm her. But she always comes back to me, and I cannot accept that she'll be killed here over policy.
I asked around for solutions and a SSGT said he contacted Nowzad about a cat that also lives on base he named Crystal.
He told me to reach out to you about Momma dog, and said there is personnel coming down from Kabul to rescue Crystal in a couple days. I pray there is some way that our precious dog can be rescued.
I hope to take Momma Dog home where she can live happy and free from this place.

The total required for a companion animal to travel to North America is on average $4000 for a dog and $2500 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
