Hello! I am a special education teacher at Mountain View Middle School. We are a Title 1 school with students from very diverse backgrounds. I work every day to bring new experiences and learning to my students. Many of the students we serve do not have the opportunities to work with and learn about technology at home. I want to provide my students with new experiences to grow a love of learning. I am asking for a Sphero SPRK+ Classroom Kit for my students at a cost of $1,800.

I am looking for help to bring the world of programming to my classroom through the use of Spherobots in order to teach students about science and technology concepts, problem solving, collaboration and communication. The Classroom Kit would provide an ideal 2:1 student-to-robot ratio and will allow our students to access this technology on their own. Ideally, these robots will also allow my students opportunities to collaborate with their general education peers on science and technology-related projects as well. Each of these robots will create an opportunity for all of our students to explore the basics of computer programming and coding and provide opportunities for inquiry-based play and discovery.

This type of hands-on learning is something that our students do not have a lot of experience with. I need your help to provide our students with this opportunity. With your support, our classroom will grow into a collaborative space where students can explore technology and find solutions to complex problems. These innovative, inquiry-based educational experiences will help our students in numerous ways and will empower our students to find success in a world where technological literacy is so important.
