This coming March Break, Creekside Youth will experience what God is doing in the barrio of Carmen Bajo, Quito, Ecuador.
Through our partner church, Iglesia Alianza Carmen Bajo, vulnerable kids are being cared for and discipled to know and follow the Lord Jesus. Young people are leading in the church and pursuing life goals and opportunities for themselves and their families.
Our team is preparing to integrate into the community and ministry happening in Carmen Bajo for a week of service, interaction and relationship-building. Your support of this team will lead to life-changing opportunities for young people from both countries!
WHO WE HELP
Impact Ecuador supports the people of Carmen Bajo, a neighbourhood in Quito, through the ministry of Carmen Bajo Church. Due to high unemployment, there is widespread poverty in the community, and many struggle with social problems such as alcoholism and family degradation.
WHAT WE DO
Impact Ecuador partners with Carmen Bajo Church to provide food, education, vocational opportunities, and spiritual growth to the whole community.
Volunteers and staff provide a hot lunch and a half-day of tutoring to hundreds of kid each week through the Quito Kids Meals and Tutoring Program. This program is a place of belonging, love, and learning for kids in the community who otherwise would be on their own all day until late in the evening.
Scholarships are available to community members seeking post-secondary education. These are instrumental in lifting whole families out of poverty.
The Carmen Bajo Church construction project has provided the church with a new building that fits their growing congregation and has become a centre for the whole community to take classes, join programs, and learn more about the Gospel.
Consistency of vision and leadership is essential for the success of any program. Impact Ecuador provides support, both practical and financial, to Pastor Fabian and his wife Grace, who have tirelessly led the Carmen Bajo Church for more than 15 years. We’re committed to supporting them as they continue to serve in their community.
