Hello!I'm Enzo Guerra, your friendly neighbourhood ...intern! Since the beginning of May, 2022, I have been working with International Teams Canada, a wonderful organization that seeks to alleviate poverty around the world. Behind International Teams Canada is a small warmhearted team that is motivated by God's love to change the world. While the team may be small, their impact is not. For instance, some ways they help is by assisting institutionalized orphans in Romania, furthering education in Kenya, and providing vocational programs in Guatemala. These only scratch the surface. One of my favourite aspects about International Teams Canada is how they approach development practice. Rather than going into countries and suggesting how to fix problems, they work alongside local leaders who run programs in their respective communities. These leaders are uniquely positioned to determine what the community needs are, which provides an effective way for change to happen. But we can't do this work alone! We need others to join in with us on this six-month journey of learning and affecting change in lives and communities around the world. My goal is to raise $10,000 for the poverty-ending work of International Teams Canada and its Impact Programs by mid-November. Ways to Support1. Become aware. Enacting change begins with becoming familiar with the complex and varied problems that our world faces, both across borders and here at home. This is something I am still learning, and perhaps will be a learning process that lasts a lifetime. 2. Connect & pray. Please feel free to email me anytime at enzo.guerra@iteams.ca.
