UPDATE 11/9/15 After our regular orthopedic vet looked at Clover he quickly said she needs a specialist for her surgical repair as the breaks are very complex and serious. The specialist confirmed that the breaks are very complex and recommended surgical repair ASAP! He does think both legs can be saved if we ACT FAST!  The bad news is that having a specialist surgically repair both legs is VERY costly, as in close to $5000, so we are amping up the fundraising and increasing our goals. 

Three vets have looked her so far and all three think she was not likely hit by car to cause the type of injuries she has, but most likely abused and hit very hard with a blunt object that broke both legs. She does not have any other injuries that would go along with hit by car.

We were contacted about this injured 4 mo old Dalmatian mix pup after she was taken into a shelter in Tucson, where she was brought in as a stray with two broken front legs. She was originally dropped off at an emergency clinic by people who found her wandering.

We are not exactly sure how the injury happened. The shelter vet splinted her legs and put her on some pain meds, but she needs an orthopedic vet to evaluate, take new x-rays to be sure she is splinted correctly and continue treatment with weekly checkups-- and possibly future orthopedic surgery may be necessary, depending on how well it heals.

We always try to help these cases because they tug at our heartstrings, but be because they are costly, we also have to reach out for help from the community to cover vet costs. I'm hopeful we can quickly raise funds for her so we can pick her up this weekend! The sooner the funds come in, the sooner we can begin her treatment!!
