Founded April 1, 2003, The New York Urban League Young Professionals (NYULYP) is the award-winning and nationally recognized volunteer auxiliary of the New York Urban League (NYUL). We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to enable African Americans and other underserved ethnic communities to secure a first-class education, economic self-reliance, and equal respect of their civil rights through programs, services, and advocacy.
This April, NYULYP celebrates 21 years of service to our community and affiliate. We invite you -- our friends and partners -- to join us by investing in our mission to help us continue the great work that we are doing throughout New York City.
📚 The Need : Across the five boroughs of New York City, countless bright minds face barriers to accessing quality education. Many students, particularly from underserved communities, lack the financial resources needed to pursue higher education and fulfill their dreams.
💡 Our Solution : The Whitney M. Young (WMY) Scholarship Fund . The WMY scholarship Program is a vital initiative dedicated to breaking down barriers and bridging the gap. Your donation of $21 or more will directly support deserving high school seniors and play a pivotal role in sustaining our mission to remove obstacles and empower students from diverse backgrounds to realize their brightest futures and make a tangible impact on their lives. Together, we can cultivate tomorrow's leaders and ensure that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to thrive and succeed.

About the New York Urban League Young Professionals
NYULYP, a vibrant community of 21 – 40 year old professionals, is dedicated to fostering unique networking opportunities for individuals passionate about community service, personal and professional growth, civic engagement, civil rights, and access to employment. Over the past five years, our collective efforts have made a significant impact. We've contributed over 100,000 hours of service to our community, advocated for important causes such as "raise the age" and "stop & frisk," supported local Black and minority businesses, co-hosted the Annual NYUL HBCU Fair for 7000+ high school students and parents, and amplified the voices of our young professional community through events like the State of Young Black New York Conference.
Proudly established in 2003 as a volunteer auxiliary of the NYUL, NYULYP comprises over 160 dedicated professionals committed to uplifting communities across New York City's five boroughs. Our diverse membership offers unparalleled networking opportunities focused on personal and professional development, community service, civil rights, employment access, financial literacy, education, and fair housing.
As a member of NYULYP, you'll join an award-winning and nationally recognized chapter of the National Urban League's affiliate, the New York Urban League, founded in 1919.
