This year, Fifth Grade at Sato would like to provide our 110 students with a true enrichment experience, a chance to build a real boat.  Through Wind and Oar Boat School, students become young designers and hands on wood workers, while they take part in building a full sized row boat from scratch. This opportunity will foster critical collaboration skills, give kids the chance to experience a real life engineering process from beginning to end, and will help cultivate necessary life long skills that are often times over looked by general education. Wind & Oar provides a full STEAM experiential learning opportunity.

The total cost for this project is $5300. We raised $1500 last year to put towards this year and our PTO has given us $2000 from our school's jog-a-thon this fall.  We need to raise just $1800 more and now with the First Tech match, that's just less than $10 a student!
