I've read Mark Haddon's novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, with my Southridge High School students for many years. It's a beautiful story where the 14-year-old narrator sets out on a hero's journey, navigating the streets of London with his own set of challenges--unable to read social cues, living in a world of rigid thinking--likely what we'd recognize as someone on the autism spectrum. I always hoped someday I'd be able to take a class to see the award-winning stage version. Well, the day is March 19, 2020! The play comes to The Armory this spring, and the good folks at Portland Center Stage have set up Mr. Corso and me, Ms. Jetton, with discount tickets and a special matinee performance in March. Each ticket is just $15 and we're planning to take 157 freshmen. We're campaigning to cover the cost of tickets and transportation.

Thank you for your help! Ashley Jetton
