The third grade team of Oak Hills Elementary would like to purchase 15 Sphero BOLTs to integrate technology with their math lessons. We can program the robot to move a specific fraction of a meter. Students have to code exact information into the Sphero in order to get it to move this distance. Students will not only gain programing and coding skills, they will also build math skills in working with fractions and units of measurement. Students will also be able to bowl with the robots and find the fraction they scored (9 pins out of 10 = 9/10) and working to find equivalent fractions with this activity. This is only one example of the numerous activities we can do with the Sphero BOLTs. The Sphero BOLTs can be used in many grade levels in the future, across the curriculum, to support instruction with innovative ideas and engaging strategies.

BEF mobilizes community resources to fund innovative classroom, summer and after-school programs.
In the event that this project does not reach its goal, BEF may apply the funds received to another project in need.
