Cleo's Rescuer says:

I wanted to give some insight into why I chose to offer a home for Cleo.
I've been an animal lover for a long time; taking in strays as well as adopting from rescues for nearly 15 years.  Each and every cat that I've added to my family has and does hold a special place in my heart.
No matter the challenge, I've made it work.
I took in a feral mother with kittens whom I found in my barn.
I brought her in and let her raise her kittens in comfort and safety.
They all remain a part of our family.
Another wonderful boy I adopted with his brother was found with their feral mother on the streets.
I adopted the two kittens only to find one of them was allergic to his own teeth.
We made the tough choice to have his teeth pulled in hope of relieving his pain; a 75% chance.  Unfortunately it did not work.
Now, Wendell, gets monthly shots to keep him healthy and happy.
He is doing quite well and enjoys a good life.
I have so many stories of all the cats I've tried to help but in the end I've found that they also have helped me.  My vet and I are like family at this point.

It was recently that my friend put out a desperate call for help from Kabul.
A beautiful cat that came to be known as, Cleo, had endeared herself to my friend and her fellows on a local military base.
Conditions went sour and Cleo was no longer able to stay there.
My friend put out a call for help and I realized that I had the means to help as well as the desire to save a soul that would otherwise have little chance.
I offer a home with a number of loving cats that can help me  offer companionship and love.
If that doesn't work for Cleo, she will have her own room filled with toys, a cat tree and a soon to be outside enclosure filled with stimulation and safety.  Whatever she needs, I will do my best to provide.
The opportunity to help Cleo as well as my military friend was one that I could not pass up as she deserves a chance at something more; a safe home with friends, family, love and joy.

Please include the animal that you would like to donate to in your mailing.

If, for whatever reason, the companion animal rescue is not successful (such as disease or injury) then at the discretion of Nowzad Dogs, the funds collected via this Youcaring page will be allocated to support the vital daily operational costs of the Nowzad Dogs small animal clinic and shelter in Kabul.
The total required for a companion animal to travel to North America is on average $4000 for a dog and $2500 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
