Truth matters, it does exist, and we CAN find it.
At News Literacy for Arizona, we teach news literacy through a 50-minute workshop that's hosted at schools, libraries and community centers. The workshop is free, nonpartisan, and designed for attendees age 13 and older. Our five-point training focuses on:
- The importance of news literacy
- The danger of disinformation
- The power of algorithms on the information we consume
- The difference between journalism and propaganda
- How to build a diverse news diet
Our workshops are taught by a seasoned educator and our advisory board members have diverse experience ranging from state-level library leadership to Pultizer-winning journalism. We've had tremendous reach in a short time, but can grow dramatically with your help.
