Mr. Fong (K-5 Spanish Teacher) and Mr. Vieira (ESL and PYP Coordinator) have two goals in their learning community at McKinley Elementary.

1. Students are engaged in transdisciplinary learning experiences. Students are practicing and exploring new Spanish vocabulary while constructing meaning about globally significant issues. The world is multi-disciplinary, and we want our students to experience reading, writing, speaking, listening, math, science, social studies, art, and more in our learning experiences

2. Students are developing explicit skills. It is one thing to say we need cooperation and group decision making when working with a group.  In our learning community, students inquire into the characteristics and function of these social skills in order to anchor their thinking to specific learning experiences.

We are looking to continue meeting these two goals through the use of Dash and Dots. These programmable robots support our goals infusing engineering and design with collaboration into the learning community.  We will use these funds to get a Dash and Dot Pack.

Our Budget Breakdown:

  • Dash and Dot 6-Pack to allow for small group inquiries.$795

Please support us in our effort to create dynamic and engaging learning experiences for our students at McKinley.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!
