As the Library and Instructional Technology Teacher at Five Oaks Middle School, I have been researching and implementing some new ideas to engage our students.  One of those ways is working with Rubik's Cubes.  Over the last two years, we have designed and built our own mosaic designs, learning how to solve at least part of the Rubik's cube. We have worked together to build big mosaic pictures of Nelson Mandela and the Mona Lisa. When I have the opportunity to borrow these sets, I am only able to work with a few classes over a 6 week period because that is the limit of the lending library. I would like to purchase our own set of 100 cubes in order to have more flexibility in working with students and teachers on the mathematics and art of the cube.  These cubes could also be used for after-school programs, community building, and family events. Rubik's cubes can be used without language barriers, and I have seen this in action. Having our own set would also save on the cost of shipping each time I borrow from the lending library.

Each cube is only $4.49 so just $5 will buy 2 cubes during the BEF match!

Thank you for your help!
