Luminaria Night

Going online for 2020 is allowing us to continue the Luminaria Night tradition while still protecting the health of hundreds of volunteers and New Bethany Ministries staff.

All of us have had to alter our lives in so many ways because of Covid 19. We are grateful that we can still share Luminaria Night this year and join with our neighbors in lighting up our streets and providing for those in need.

We're asking donors to record their orders online under the name of their usual block captain. The Block captains will be in charge of delivering the kits you order, if your orders are received by November 25.

I live on Weyhill Farm Rd. and primarily serve neighbors in the area bordered by Weyhill Farm Rd., Linden Oaks Lane, Green Acres Dr. and Country Rd., including Weyhill Circle, Weyhill Crescent and Stonehill Way. I also serve homes on Merryweather Dr.

If you are new to Luminaria Night and live in the vicinity of my area, you can also order kits on this site. If I realize that another captain lives closer to you, I will definitely pass that name along to you.

As you probably already know, the funds we raise for Luminaria Night go to Bethlehem's New Bethany Ministries. New Bethany provides services for those facing poverty, hunger and homelessness: weekday hot lunches, a food pantry, opportunities for the homeless to shower and wash clothing as well as transitional housing. (It is one of the few area agencies that can house homeless family members under one roof.)

Most important, New Bethany Ministries provides an opportunity for those in need to become self-sufficient. Your dollars won't be wasted.
