Summer is the busiest time for us in rescue! We often have regular foster homes away on vacation, and need pay to board dogs in their absence. This year has been especially tough for the shelter community as a whole, and in the recent months, we were asked to take in several dogs in desperate need of saving. Kelsi came to us from a shelter in New Mexico. He was saved with less than a day left to spare. With no large dog foster homes open at the time, we had to choice but to pay for his boarding along with his medical treatments needed as a result of living in a shelter situation.

As a reputable rescue, we pride ourselves in ensuring that every dog receives the medical care that they need, and we quickly began to find that these dogs were in need of major medical care. Our “emergency funds” have gone towards providing these dogs with the care that they need. Looking at our little Sophie and Mandy, it is hard to say no. When you look at their adorable faces, and little dachshund bodies, it’s easy to forget that they once were a part of a puppy mill situation, and then were surrendered by their owner who no longer handle their medical needs. 

This is why we need your help! Daily, we are asked to take dogs like Mandy and Sophie who are desperately in need, and we need our community to help us make that possible.

We are hoping to reach our goal of $7000 to get us ready for Fall, and to help with any unexpected medical expenses that inevitably come in rescue.
