No Other Doxie Rescue Would Step Up, but DRSF Did

Nearly every day, pleas for help circulate the rescue distribution lists from all over the state.  Young, old, sick, healthy, it is mind blowing how many dogs there are in need.  As a general rule, we initially pass on those outside of South Florida as there are so many doxie rescues in the state and no other team supporting South Florida and Miami.  (We are the only ones crazy enough to do it!).

But when we saw a plea come through for through for three dogs who had been orphaned when their Mom passed we paused as we guessed that there weren't going to be a lot of teams stepping up for these three

Gypsy ~ 4 year old spayed female doxie mix
Liddle ~ 10 year old spayed female blind, deaf & insulin dependent doxie
Ginger ~ 18 year old spayed female blind, dry eye, skin issues and insulin dependent longer hair Dixie
We initially passed and held our breath that another group closer by would take them, but the e-mail came back around, this time directly to the DRSF team that "many people had recommended us" as a place to help, despite all the other rescues closer by, we could not leave them in need.
A transport was organized to get the trio to South Florida and immediately to LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital to be checked out and to get their diabetic status re-checked and the scramble has begun to find foster homes who will take diabetic seniors.
So many others had said no....we are not "dachshund young and healthy", dachshund "only one at a time", nor are we "dachshund only a problem if it is in my area", we are DACHSHUND RESCUE and the only reason we don't have to say no is that YOU are there for US.
Will you continue to help us be able to say "yes" when so many others say "no"? Even $1 will ensure that we can continue to be there for those in need.  Even if you are not able to donate, you can still support Gypsy, Liddle, and Ginger, by leaving a comment as the more comments we get the more people see our posts!
Thank YOU for being the hardest working team in rescue and making us be able to make doxie dreams come true!
