About the RunJoin us for a fun 5km Trail Run or Walk in Bechtel Park, Waterloo! In terms of timing and results, we will be using an old school method of providing name tag stickers to each participant and then collecting them at the finish line and posting them on poster board. Following the event, we will post all the results on this page! Date : September 16, 2023. Group warm up at 9:30AM, Run starts at 10AM. Cost : Please make a donation and share the opportunity to sponsor your run/walk with your loved ones and network. *Tax receipts will be issued for all donations* Once you have signed up, you can donate the amount of your choice directly through the fundraising page. Distance : 5km Trail Run or Walk Location: Bechtel Park - 185 Bridge St W, Waterloo, ON N2K 1K9 About the CauseImpact Uganda is a International Teams Canada partnership between Canadians and Ugandans rallied around the work of Embrace Uganda, a local community-based organization, that provides holistic development and education to vulnerable individuals in Kitigoma, Uganda. This is completed directly through Kitigoma Community Church and God’s Gift School. Kitigoma Community Church provides support to the surrounding community through medical clinics, outreach activities and a place to worship together. God’s Gift School provides quality education and nutritious meals to over 360 children from kindergarten through the end of elementary school. Under the leadership of Pastor Robert Mukalazi, Justine Mukalazi and Shadrach Wanjala, this church and school are transforming the community of Kitigoma into a place characterized by dignity, justice, peace and hope. How it works1. Sign up for the run by clicking 'Register' here or above, making an account with Fundrazr, and filling in some basic information. 2. Follow prompts to fill in a fundraising message and set a goal (optional) 3. Encourage others to get involved as well, or by inviting them to donate to the page. They can support your fundraising progress by clicking 'donate now' beside your name on the 'Team' tab, or by clicking the large Donate button, and selecting your name from a drop down list of fundraisers to attribute the donation to.
