Lucky dog was brought to the Nowzad shelter as a young pup by a US
soldier who was sadly unable to offer her a home.
With the now
impending CDC ban on importing a dog to the United States looming ever
closer we desperately want to transport Lucky to the US and a new life
as soon as possible.
Lucky’s waiting forever family have this to say;
‘My family has been fortunate to have Nowzad dogs in our lives since 2013. I have become so endeared to their strengths and fragility. It’s been the most incredible experience to provide for them, and be rewarded with the most precious of gifts in return — their trust.
Lucky caught my eye and our hearts are so full at the possibility of welcoming another friend from far away into our home. We feel so “lucky” to have the chance to offer him safety, love, and a joyful life along with his other Nowzad brothers. We are so grateful to Nowzad for their dedication to all the animals they help’.

Receiving emails from the new adopters
of their dog or cat now curled up on their couching, snoozing away
whilst the family watches TV or splashing around in puddles on the
daily dog walk always brings a smile to our faces here at the Nowzad
clinic. Opening your home to a Nowzad dog or cat takes commitment and
the traits of some-one special.
But even more so, those who
donate to a rescue they will probably never meet, is the supreme act
of generosity and every day I am humbled by the kindness that complete
strangers show.

If, for whatever reason, the companion animal rescue is not
successful (such as disease or injury) then at the discretion of
Nowzad Dogs, the funds collected via this Fundrazr page will be
allocated to support the vital daily operational costs of the Nowzad
Dogs small animal clinic and shelter in Kabul. We have over 140 dogs
and 40 cats (which are mostly all adoptable) plus the first ever
donkey sanctuary in Afghanistan. We continually need generous
donations to be there for these animals.
The total required for a companion animal to travel to North
America is on average $5000 for a dog and $3000 for a cat (THESE are
airline costs only! We as an NFP make no profit and everything is
subject to currency valuations and airline freight charges on the day
of booking). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations. For
the UK it can be as much as £5000 for a dog sadly.
