Hello Friends!

Gus was hit by a car and brought to the county shelter (the pound) a few days ago with a broken pelvis. Lucky Dog Rescue jumped to help him and took him to our vet yesterday! He is tiny, just 4 pounds!

Unfortunately we found out his pelvic fracture is a bad one, more complex than anticipated, and the vets are recommending a specialist do surgery to put in a special plate. If it is not done correctly by a skilled board certified surgeon with the right equipment, he could have problems later with things like defecating and walking normally. We are working quickly to get quotes from specialists (board certified surgeons) while we raise the funds needed! As soon as we can raise at least half of what is needed we can book the surgery. Can you help us make this happen for Gus? We count on our generous supporters for these urgent medical cases, and we are so grateful for any help you can give.

Time is critical on this one, so please share and donate if you can, it will literally save this little guy's life and give him a second chance to function like a normal dog and ultimately find a new forever home!!

Thank you so much for your help!

Sincerely,

Lisa Maturo, founder
Dee Alschuler, director

PS/ Once Gus receives his surgery he will need a foster home. If you'd like to help in that way, or, if you're interested in adopting, please send us an email to lisa@luckydogrescue.org
