Donate through the months of August and September, 2024 towards our WAXON MONTHS OF CHANGE Campaign as we raise money for One Girl Can's university scholarship program.
Each WAXON location is raising money to sponsor one deserving student to cover their costs for one year's tuition, living expenses, internships and other essentials, through the One Girl Can scholarship program. Our Yorkville Village location is thrilled to be sponsoring Violet on her education journey. She is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science Economics and Statistics degree at Chuka University.
Violet, age 22, was raised by her mother, a small business owner, who supported her and her three siblings though school – often taking out loans to pay for tuition fees and doing everything she could to ensure the family’s basic needs were met. Her mother, who did not attend school herself, vowed never to give up to change the future of her children’s lives. Violet’s sister also attended university, which allowed her to earn enough to help pay for Violet’s school fees, until she received a scholarship from One Girl Can. “I want to change the world’s attitude towards women. I believe that whatever a man can do a woman can do, and I know there will be a great difference when more girls are given better opportunities to change the world.”

All money raised will go towards supporting young women in Kenya and will cover their costs for one year's tuition, living expenses, internships, and other essentials. This life-changing program provides the much needed support these young women need so they can pursue their career aspirations and move one step closer to realizing their dreams.
