Each year, more than 5 million neurological patients around the world do not receive adequate care, resulting in otherwise avoidable disability and death.

KBNF has been working with the Liberian Government since 2014 to develop its neurosurgery capacity, but the program is still in its infancy suffering setbacks from Ebola, lack of trained medical professionals across all disciplines, and extremely limited resources.

KBNF works to address these deficits with shipments of equipment and supplies and annual medical missions. 

Walk For the Bu is a walkathon fundraiser to raise money to maximize the impact of KBNF's fall 2022 training and neurosurgery mission to Liberia.

Global events have pushed the world into a high inflation environment with costs dramatically rising in every sector of our economy. These cost increases affect everyone from our hosts in Liberia to the medical professionals across the world that volunteer their time and money to be an essential part of our team supporting the Liberian health care system. 

We need your support to help raise $100,000 in support of the mission costs, including, but not limited to: medicines, parts and repairs for equipment, travel and accommodation costs for mission participants (including Liberian nurses from other hospitals and West African surgeons from Ghana and Nigeria).
