We're the Back to the Sea Society, a non-profit working towards opening a seasonal aquarium in the Halifax Regional Municipality. We're testing locations for the Back to the Sea Aquarium. You can help us bring the Touch Tank Hut to the Dartmouth waterfront. Join us and the Alderney Landing Community Cultural Centre to make this possible.
You can visit the Touch Tank Hut every weekend in August. Help us build momentum and success and we'll extend these operating days! Visitors and and locals alike (that's you!) can get their hands wet and learn about the intertidal species found in our North Atlantic ocean. Come feel an urchin's spines, watch a brittle star crawl in your hand and be amazed at the weight of a surf clam!

Your donation will help create the Touch Tank Hut. You will help empower environmental education and shape our future ocean stewards. Your support will enable us to grow a community hub and enhance tourism opportunities.
Your gift will complete renovations on the hut, keep our animals healthy and happy (with their own life support system), and bring knowledgeable guides to engage visitors and cater to their individual curiosities.

Nous sommes la Société Back to the Sea, un organisme à but non lucratif qui a comme projet principal d’ouvrir un aquarium saisonnier dans la municipalité de Halifax. Vous pouvez nous aider à lancer notre Touch Tank Hut situé au bord de l’eau à Dartmouth. Joignez-vous à nous ainsi qu’au centre culturel d’Alderney Landing afin de transformer ce rêve en réalité.
Vous êtes invités à rendre visite au Touch Tank Hut à chaque fin de semaine du mois d’août. Plus on parle de nous et plus les visiteurs seront nombreux et nous serons plus en mesure de prolonger nos heures (et nos jours) d’ouverture! Que vous soyez originaires d’ici ou d’ailleurs, venez vous mouiller un peu les mains et en apprendre d’avantage sur les espèces que nous retrouvons juste ici dans notre océan Atlantique Nord. Venez ressentir les épines d’un oursin de mer, observer la démarche particulière de l’étoile de mer directement dans votre main et vous faire surprendre par le poids d’une palourde de l’Atlantique.
Votre don contribuera directement à la création de notre Touch Tank Hut. Vous favoriserez ainsi la préservation de l’environnement et ainsi que l'intérêt nos futurs prodiges de biologie marine. Grâce à votre aide nous offrions aux citoyens un point de rencontre communautaire et nous participerons à l'offre touristique de la région.
Votre don permettra de finaliser les rénovations de notre Touch Tank Hut. Il nous permettra aussi d'assurer le bien-être de nos animaux marins ainsi que leur santé et de vous offrir des guides qualifiés avec des connaissances diverses pour tous nos visiteurs, petits et grands.
À votre tour de faire partie d’un projet d’une grande importance! Halifax: quel magnifique endroit pour un aquarium! Le premier aquarium de la région aura lieu grâce à vous!
