Amicus Productions hasn't added a story.
Amicus Productions is commemorating the centenary of the Halifax Explosion with Quiet Courage, an adaptation of Too Many to Mourn by James and Rowena Mahar from November 9th-25th, 2017 at the Papermill Theatre (67 Pottery Rd.) in Toronto. The story is about the Jackson family who lost two-thirds of their extended family on that fateful December morning in 1917. At the heart of the family are sisters Mary and Ada who try to find survivors and deal with the enormity of their loss.
Amicus Productions is a community-based theatre group and all participants are volunteers. We try to keep our production costs to a minimum so that our ticket prices are as low as possible ($15-$25) in order to make our shows accessible to the largest group of people. Amicus receives no public funding and ticket sales account for only 75% of our total expenses. So we work hard to try to raise the remainder through fundraiser activities and sponsorship opportunities.
We feel that the 100th anniversary of the Halifax Explosion is an important commemorative date in Canadian history and feel the story of the Jackson family and their courage is very relevant today. We hope that you agree and will support this production with a donation. We are grateful to Nimbus Publishing and New World Publishing for contributing books for this fundraiser initiative. You can donate any amount, but if you donate one of our three featured options you will receive one of four titles about this extraordinary event.
