Freedom 8848 was formed by 4 men who came together after being inspired by a weekend adventure in the Rocky Mountains. After the72 hour, 4th Musketeer, XCC- Extreme Character Challenge there was a brewing need to stand up and fight the giant of an injustice of sex trafficking.

Standing at the base of Everest it seems insurmountable, too big to conquer, but the reality is, it isn't. The first step is to decide to pack a bag and move towards it.

Why 8848? The idea was born to summit Everest here in the Alberta Rocky Mountains by creating The Freedom 8848 Team Everest Challenge. Yes, that's right, 8848 meters of elevation over the span of three days. 9 mountains in 3 days!! This all to attract and encourage people to come and join the fight. As the event neared in 2020 there was significant risk of cancelation so the inception of the Remote Everest Challenge was created. This is where teams of people are encouraged to find a way to climb 8848m collectively. All these efforts are to raise awareness to this issue along with funds to support the chosen organizations.

The Freedom 8848 decided Prevention, Rescue and Restoration would be their pillars and carefully chose 3 partners to direct their efforts towards. These partners are BRAVE Education for Trafficking Prevention - Prevention, International Justice Mission (IJM) Canada - Rescue, and Next Step Ministries - Restoration. The funds raised is used to help these organizations with the ongoing costs they require to operate throughout the year.
