Nowzad proudly boasts a 24 hour animal hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan where we deliver vital anti-rabies prevention along with care and treatment for the many injured animals that find their way to our clinic door.

Our work now includes rehabilitating former working donkeys in a peaceful and caring environment in what is a first for Afghanistan; the Nowzad donkey sanctuary. The Nowzad team provide urgent medical attention and care to the thousands of working animals that are over worked and abused as they pull heavily laden carts through busy congestion filled streets. 

The charity is also operating in Ukraine delivering vital animal welfare and food to dog and cat shelters struggling with the influx of stray animals as the brutal invasion by Russia destroys towns and villages and animals are left behind as people flee for their lives. 

The charity is now in a position to restart our dog and cat adoption programme in the UK. All dogs and cats are tested for rabies and brucella before being assessed as to their rehoming suitability.

Funding their travel is expense but so worthwhile to see that dog or cat find a loving forever home to live out their days.
