The mission of the Knox County Homeless Coalition is to break the cycles of homelessness and poverty in Midcoast Maine (Knox, Waldo and northern Lincoln Counties). We take a holistic, compassionate and comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of homeless adults, families, and children, providing emergency support, a family shelter, case management with wraparound services, and affordable housing solutions. Our youth program, The Landing Place, emerged out of our recognition that a two-generation approach will be essential to creating systemic and lasting change in our communities. We are also addressing root causes such as the lack of affordable housing in our area. Since 2014, the Knox County Homeless Coalition has served over 2000 people, finding housing for more than 1000; over 90% of the clients who graduate from our program have maintained their independence.
