DC Design is a social impact design firm. Using Human-Centered Design, our cross-disciplinary team engages the key stakeholders affected by a problem, especially those who have been through that problem themselves, to develop solutions that are validated and long-lasting. We partner with social entrepreneurs, governments, nonprofits and companies to address complex social problems and teach them our methods.

We have extensive experience applying our methods to redesign social systems such as criminal justice, education, foster care, and healthcare.

Don’t Be Colorblind

Race has played an important role in creating the injustices we see in our society today, so we pay attention to race in order to correct those injustices.

See the System

Big problems affect many and they can’t be solved in silos. We work with clients to see the whole system, break silos, and design for all key stakeholders.

Target Root Problems

Social problems persist because systems are in place that maintain them. We help clients target root problems instead of symptoms.

Create Real Impact

We aren’t interested in wasting our time or anyone else’s on projects that won’t change lives, alleviate poverty, or elevate human potential. That means we’re honest with clients about what we see, which results in the most successful outcomes.
