Helping our community get to the next level of crowdfunding success

Julie Teti is a 35-year-old registered nurse with a loving husband and four young children. She was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Metastatic Peritoneal Mesothelioma. Because treatment options for this rare cancer are limited, she needs to explore all possibilities, both in Canada and the United States. Their goal is to raise enough money to cover any expenses Julie and her family may incur during this difficult journey.

We spoke with Daniela Teti on how she was able to rally almost 100 family, friends and even strangers around her cause and help with Julie’s fight. Read our interview below to learn about the cause, how they raised almost 80% of their goal and how you can help make a difference in this family’s lives.

Why did you decide to turn to crowdfunding?

We are raising money for Julie to help offset costs incurred by her Metastatic Peritoneal Mesothelioma.

How did you promote your campaign and create an online community of support?

We were sharing Julie’s story on Facebook and quickly we required a place where donations could be made easily. We have been successful not only through Facebook but through our local newspaper and radio station. We are thrilled with the results we have received from FundRazr!

What has been the highlight of your crowdfunding experience?

The highlight of our experience was being able to see the messages and outpouring of support so quickly and easily. We would like to thank you at FundRazr for providing such a platform. As proud as we are of our fundraising efforts, Julie’s fight is far from over. While we do have funds to make the road smoother, we do still rely on the love and support of both the online and local community as well as our family and friends. #helpjuliefight
