FundRazr brings crowdfunding to Startup Weekend UBC

Startup Weekends are a series of 54-hour events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, for teams, build products, and launch startups! This year, Startup Weekend will take place in 478 cities worldwide.
Last weekend, UBC hosted the event in Vancouver, B.C, bringing in FundRazr’s Bret Conkin to the judging panel.
Fundrazr was the first crowdfunding platform to participate in Startup Weekend.
The start-ups were first briefed on crowd funding best practices. They were then given 24 hours to engage their community and see who could get the most market validation and crowd fund the most funds for their start-up. This provided valuable experience on this essential new funding approach for start-ups.

The winner of the event was Pony Pony Dog, “a trans-generational gaming platform for parents, grandparents, and their three to six year old children to bond over minigames despite geographic boundaries.”
