Rexy was brought in by an Afghan Police Officer when she was only about 2 months old over 4 years ago now.  The Police Officer wanted Nowzad to board her until she was a bit older.
Sadly, when he came back after one month to pick her up, he realized that Rexy’s ears weren't standing up and decided there and then that he no longer wanted her.

Thankfully, at Nowzad we did, and she has stayed with us ever since.

Now, Rexy has an extra special home to go to with another Nowzad rescue 'Bone' and her amazing, dedicated owner, who sadly lost his other beloved Afghan rescue 'Frago' in June.

Here, he tells us his compelling story about why it is so important to him to get Rexy home to him and Bone:

When I lost Frago back in June, I was in a pretty bad way and unfortunately so was Bone.
She would spend hours searching the yard looking for him, and looking at the door waiting for him to join her out back.
She has come such a long way since her arrival in the States. We video and take long walks. It's clear she loves the company of me and other dogs.
I entered in to a VA PTSD program during the weeks, where she spends them at my dad's house who has bonded like super glue to his rescued Afghan dog, Whiskey.
She is clearly an affectionate pack dog with a strong maternal sense. It is only fair to everybody to share our happiness and love with another adorable rescue from Afghanistan.
Frago would be happy to know how much his presence has inspired me to gravitate to the love of his country's sweet pariah dogs.
I was scrolling through the adoptions page on the Nowzad site when I first arrived in this program, and came upon Rexy, whose big ears and sweet face immediately won me over. I knew at that point I found my next rescue.

Please include the animal that you would like to donate to in your mailing.

If, for whatever reason, the companion animal rescue is not successful (such as disease or injury) then at the discretion of Nowzad Dogs, the funds collected via this Youcaring page will be allocated to support the vital daily operational costs of the Nowzad Dogs small animal clinic and shelter in Kabul.
The total required for a companion animal to travel to the UK is on average £5000 for a dog and £3000 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
