Charlie's Soldier Savior says:

This is Charlie, a tough devil-pup from the northern mountains of Afghanistan. I found him cowering outside my command post on Christmas Eve. I made a quick bed from my jacket and then took him inside. After sharing a Christmas StarKist tuna dinner together, he fell asleep on my jacket. Over the next few days, I nursed Charlie back to health. As he regained his strength, he began to follow me around everywhere I went. Needless to say, I grew rather attached to Charlie. In fact, I began referring to him as my new executive officer.

As much as I love the company of my new XO, I arranged to have him picked up and vaccinated. This part of Afghanistan is rife with canine disease, and most puppies do not survive the winter. He is currently under the care of the wonderful people at the Nowzad clinic in Kabul. He will stay there until he is up to date on his vaccinations.

All of my Marines and I miss our little devil-pup, but we know it is in his best interest. When the time comes for us to leave Afghanistan, we do not intend to leave him behind. The process is costly, but if enough people are willing to help, I can give Charlie a new home in the United States. With your help, we can save Charlie from this war.

Semper Fidelis,
Capt Ryan

If, for whatever reason, the companion animal rescue is not successful (such as disease or injury) then at the discretion of Nowzad Dogs, the funds collected via this Fundrrazr page will be allocated to support the vital daily operational costs of the Nowzad Dogs small animal clinic and shelter in Kabul.
The total required for a companion animal to travel to North America is usually a minimum of $5000 for a dog and at least $3000 for a cat (we make no profit and everything is subject to currency valuations and fuel prices on the day). We are sadly unable to offer refunds on donations.
