The IBC Network Foundation Canada hasn't added a story.

THIS ISN’T ABOUT HOW YOU MOVE. IT’S ABOUT WHY.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer is aggressive, underfunded, and often misdiagnosed. It’s not rare - it’s rarely recognized. And in Canada, it has been left out of the conversation for far too long.

We’re changing that.

The IBC Network Foundation Canada is a patient-led registered charity focused entirely on IBC. We support people living with this disease, push for faster diagnosis and better access to care, and are working to fund the research IBC has gone without for far too long.

This May, we’re inviting you to Move for More.

Last year our community raised $6,000.
This year we’re aiming for $10,000 and to grow the movement even further.

Move however you can - walk, run, dance, stretch, ride - and raise funds to support real action:

🧡 Programs that support patients and families
🧡 National education efforts to improve diagnosis
🧡 Advocacy to expand access to life-saving treatments
🧡 And our first Canadian research initiatives for IBC

Your support moves more than just your body.
It moves awareness forward.
It moves science forward.

Join us. Sign up, donate, or share the campaign today.

Why I Move

People join Move for More for many different reasons.
Here’s one story from our community.

“I joined Move for More to honour women I love whose lives have been turned upside down by breast cancer.

Last year, a close friend of mine lost her sister just shy of the five-year remission mark. She left behind two young daughters without their amazing mother. Around the same time, another beautiful woman in my life learned her cancer had returned and was suddenly facing the fight all over again. It felt deeply unfair.

These women inspired me to take part in Move for More - to help spread the word about Inflammatory Breast Cancer and raise funds for research that could help more women in the future.

I ran a 5K race in honour of Catherine and Daniella. When it started to feel hard, I reminded myself why I was doing it - and kept going. I ended up smiling the whole way and even ran a personal best!

I hope I can continue to support initiatives like this where advocacy for rare types of breast cancer like IBC is front and centre. It’s something all Canadian women should know.”

— Andrea Sluga

What’s your reason? Join us this May.

How funds will be used

Every donation helps push this work forward - from educating healthcare providers and supporting patients to building the research momentum IBC has gone without for far too long.

Funds raised will support:

• Patient support and education
• National awareness and healthcare provider outreach to improve recognition of IBC
• Advocacy to improve earlier diagnosis and access to care for IBC patients across Canada
• Growth of our dedicated IBC research fund and support for emerging IBC research and researchers

The IBC Network Foundation Canada is a registered Canadian charity. Donations of $20 or more will receive an official tax receipt.

As a patient-led charity, we focus on ensuring resources are used where they can have the most immediate and meaningful impact. We will continue sharing updates through our website, newsletters, and social media so you can see how your support is helping move this work forward.

Our Call to Action

Don’t sit this one out.

The 3 Things That Help Participants Raise the Most

People are much more likely to donate when they understand why you’re participating and see your progress.

1. Share your “why.”
Tell people why Move for More matters to you. Personal posts inspire more support than general announcements.

2. Post early and post a few times.
Most donations happen after people see a campaign shared multiple times throughout the month.

3. Ask directly.
A simple message like “If you’re able to support my challenge, every donation helps.” can make a big difference.

4. It’s not only about donations.
Raising awareness matters too. If people aren’t able to donate, encourage them to share your post or help spread the word about inflammatory breast cancer. Every conversation helps increase awareness and move this work forward.

Provide a description of the underlying problem or situation you want to improve with funding. Explain why this issue is important and what negative effects it currently has on people, the environment or your community.
  2. What is your solution?
Describe your plan to address the problem and highlight what makes your approach unique or effective.
  3. How will the funds be used?
Outline how the money will be allocated to specific programs, resources or services.
  4. How will contributions make a tangible difference?
Explain the benefits and positive changes resulting from your project being funded. If appropriate, also explain how the lives of beneficiaries will be impacted.
  5. How will you keep supporters involved in your campaign?
